The White Shirt

For some reason, I used to associate the white shirt with a stiff, conservative, uncomfortable piece of clothing. Much like the blazer. Maybe it had something to do with my office job in a biotech company or my association of the piece with long meetings and trade shows.

Whatever it was, I no longer have the same sentiment. Especially over the past few months the white shirt has become more of a staple in my wardrobe. Mind you, we're talking the "customizable" shirt here - no stiffness and discomfort allowed! Lightweight, natural fabrics, a slightly oversized fit and, ideally, long sleeves for some extra playfulness.

I am saying customizable here because I like to tuck, drape and re-shape the shirt to my liking... it's an easy trick to get a lot more wear out of more basic pieces!
